Exploring the Challenges in Semantic Service Discovery
In this week's JargonSpy column, Dan Woods addresses some of the use cases involved in semantic service discovery, a terms that describes using the Web to search for services instead of simply searching for Web pages.
Woods also writes about the some of the challenges faced by developers in creating the foundation for service discovery, such as having to deal with a large volume of services, and ways to describe what the services do.
Woods ends his column by emphasizing that the challenges may be difficult, but the possible end victory would enable programmers and all of us to do much more with a vastly enhanced Web.
